THE TRADEMARK

“Cotton Belt”… in the history of North America, “cotton belt” was the strip of land in the South of the United States. It used to spread across Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama and South Carolina, beyond the banks of Mississippi; the territory of the first cotton plantations, which represented one of the main sources of national wealth, the land where the history of the United Stated of America was changed.
The true American spirit that led to the liberation from the English “tyrant”, was the same one that  stimulated these States, already democratic, to declare war against slavery. Cotton Belt thus became a symbol of perseverance and farsightedness, but also of an epoch and a life-style where the motto “Cotton is the King” was very recurrent.
The “cotton belt” history proceeded with the establishment of the St. Louis South Western Railway on 15th January 1891, which was known as the “COTTON BELT  ROUTE”: the result of the merging of the minor networks that connected the North-east of Texas, Arkansas and the South west of Missouri. The massive railway network covering the extensive area of cotton plantations.
The “Cotton Belt” trademark represents all this through a way of dressing, which interprets at best that deep-rooted democratic spirit which gave birth to the ideas of emancipation and freedom.
The love for the jeans roots, the knowledge of its origins and traditions, the will to offer and represent those unique and craftsmanlike characteristics which were typical for the first  “originals” from overseas, the taste and the passion for the continuous research. All this is Cotton Belt.

THE COMPANY

MISTRAL COMPANY was founded in 1971, it was a company that produced and distributed men’s trousers, thanks to market evolution, Mistral became a “total look”. After the initial years of activity, the garment range was expanded and the production and marketing of women’s trousers was begun.
Thereby beginning the success story of a company based on a clearly international taste and Italian sartorial tradition.
The impressive expansion of the Mistral is thanks largely to the development of the retail sector, which began with the opening of direct storse in Italy. The Company continues its development strategy and in 2004, it has taken over the full property of the COTTON BELT trademark.
